Week 13 in Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends:

This week we having been getting used to just being 2 of us and not 3 it is a big change, we don't have to cook so much food, it is a lot faster to wash clothes on Mondays, it is easier to teach when there are only 2. But it is still a big change for us. But we know that the Lord will help us.

Today I want to focus my letter on 2 things and I have come to realize here in the mission that these 2 things are important. The First is not everyone is made to serve a mission. The Second is it doesn't matter what people think of you. Why did I choose these two things, well I had problems with these two things before my mission. I always tried to do things that the others were doing to fit in, but I have realized a lot here that, that isn't how we are supposed to do it. The Lord has given each and everyone of us Talents and we have to know how to use them, I thought I was different because I played the trumpet but this Friday I get to share that talent with my wonderful ward here. [This is an excerpt from an email he sent to me: Yes this Friday we have a talent night and I will be playing the best I can after 2 years of not playing, I will play some hymns and yes I will get it on Video. Yes I have a trumpet the Bishops daughter has one that she doesn't use and let me barrow it!!!!] I have always tried to please others but that's not how to do it, I have realized that we don't have to do things to make other people happy or we don't have to be someone else. we just have to be ourselves. If people don't like who we are it's okay because the only person that should matter is Heavenly Father and ourselves. We are all special and we shouldn't be afraid to be who we really are.

The other important thing is about the mission, a lot of you already know what happened with me before the mission [he was postponed 7 months and was reassigned from his original mission call to serve in Puerto Rico] so I won't go into that story, but near the end I was losing hope in serving a mission. I thought that the Lord didn't want me to serve or I wasn't going to be the missionary that Heavenly Father wanted out in the Field. But that's not true at all. I have realized that I am able to help the people here in Puerto Rico better than I thought. I am NOT the perfect missionary nor will I ever be a perfect missionary but I know that the Lord has called me here to be His instrument. He needs me. I know there are people out there that can't decide if is a mission is for them or not, I want you all to know the mission isn't for everyone I have so many examples in my life of people that didn't serve missions and they are some of the happiest people I know.

I want to share with you all my testimony of this Gospel, this Gospel has brought so many wonderful people into my life, from all over the world I have friends from Washington all the way to Chile!!!! If I weren't a member of this church I would probably not have these amazing blessings. I have been so blessed with amazing friends and family who love and support me through everything!!!! I know that this is the true church and that our Heavenly Father and Brother Jesus Christ live and love us, I know that Joseph Smith had a question in 1820 and that he was answered. I know that Thomas S Monson is the Prophet and mouth piece for our Heavenly Father. I love the Book of Mormon and everything that it teaches us. I share this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love you all and I miss you tons!!! I hope you all have a great week!!!!

Week 12 Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends,

6 MORE WEEKS IN CAROLINA (PONTEZUELA)

I am so blessed to be here longer, sadly we have to say goodbye to Elder Morris, he has been transferred to Adjuntas!!! Elder Morris has been one of my favorite companions he will be dearly missed from here.

But for us here we are doing great, we are working hard and seeing Miracles everyday, I have come to love others, I have been studying a lot about Love and Charity and the importance of it in our lives. Something that I learned this week is that as I am here there are many people that I have to Love but one of the most important people that I have to love is first myself because if I don't love myself I can't love anyone.

The Lord has blessed me so much with Charity and Love I have learned that the most important thing is to love God and Jesus Christ and to know that they are there for each and everyone of us. The Lord was the best example of love I really like to think about his example and how when he was being crucified he still had loves for others, he asked God to forgive them that do this to him because they know not what they do.

I want to testify to all you of you guys that if we continue to have love and charity Heavenly Father will bless us and help us with everything that we need. The Lord has blessed with these attributes and I know that he will bless each and everyone of you. I know that this church is true and that the Book of Mormon is true and I love you all and miss you tons.

See you all soon!!!!

Week 11 Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends,

First I wanted to start off by saying that Puerto Rico is amazing and it is probably the happiest Country in the World this weekend!!!! As a lot of you know Monica Puig is huge hero here. She won the Gold Medal this weekend in Tennis. man everyone has been celebrating a lot this past weekend.

But for my letter this week, we had a great week I am so grateful for all the wonderful things that are happening here and we are really trying to find those people that the Lord has prepared for us.

I wanted to say that I miss you all and I love you all so much you guys are always in my prayers, I can't believe that all of my friends are so much different [getting married, having babies, going to college, going on missions, returning from missions] <-- It is super cool to hear how their missions changed their lives and then I am thinking about my mission and how it has changed me, I know that the Lord has sent me here to Puerto Rico for a reason and that he has a plan for me!!!!

I am so grateful for all the support that you guys have shown to me, I always like to think that I can't do this alone, you guys as family and friends have been a big part of this mission for me and I am grateful for all of you!!!!

I know that the Lord has a plan for each and everyone of us and He is leading us where He wants us to go!!!

I love you all and miss you tons, I hope you all have a great week!!!! I can't wait to hear from you all next week!!!!

Week 10 Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends

This week was very difficult for us we are having problems with finding people. This week I have had a good opportunity to learn the importance of members in this work.

Today we had the opportunity to have a testimony builder for the 3 of us, we went to Costco to go shopping and the member bought us a a slice of Pizza and when we were going to sit down some guy called Elder Lopez over and started to talk to him and he was saying some pretty mean things not only about the Church about me and Elder Morris, he was telling us that we were all liars and that we basically are wasting our time but then he told Elder Lopez that he was a liar and basically a loser for being with 2 Americans. He then asked for a card with Elder Lopez's number and we pulled out a card and he started going off again that Jesus isn't white and that the Bible says that he is brown. Long Story Short we have been blessed with the amazing gospel in our lives.

I have learned from this experience that nothing can destroy my faith and my testimony that I have in this gospel. No matter what people say or do to hurt us we have to remember that the Lord has called us and we are Sons and Daughters of God. I am so grateful for this gospel I have in my live and all the wonderful blessings I have received and I will continue to receive.

I Love you all and miss you tons!!! I can't wait to be able to see each of your smiling faces again!!!! You guys mean the world to me and I couldn't have asked for a better family and better friends.

Until next week, I hope I have even more to share!!!!

Love

Week 9 in Pontezuela (Carolina)

Family and Friends;

This week was really good, and hard this week we lost the power in our house 2 and then we couldn't cook at all, it was so hard. Also it was super hot and we didn't have our AC or our fans to help us. But it is okay it was somewhat fun ;)

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to Confirm Joseph a member of the most amazing Church ever!!!! I was able to do it in English, it was super weird trying to do it in English, I have been giving blessings in Spanish for almost 2 years now and my Spanish sometimes just over powers my English!!!!! I am glad that we have the opportunity to help others!!!!

I have learned so much since I have been here and I am so happy for all the many wonderful lessons I have learned. One of these very important lessons I have leaned is to be patient, yes I have realized that to be able to live with people that you don't know is a little difficult but you have to be patient with them. Not only with the people you live with but the people in everyday. I have gained a stronger testimony about this gospel and I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity I have to be a representative of Jesus Christ and his Church.

I love you so much and miss you tons!!!!! I hope you all have a great week and I will talk to you next week!!!!

Ponce, Puerto Rico: Week 3

Ponce: Week 2

Hey family and friends I am so sorry that I haven't gotten a real letter to any of you yet! Here is what has been happening to me here,

First off I am in Ponce 2 it is super hot here and I love it! The ward is really nice and they are old but that whats makes them better!

As you may have heard I am in a trio now and boy is it difficult!  Not only do we have to do all the work that normally four Elders would do we have to WALK everywhere and our area is huge!

Elders Moss and Lopez
Elder Heward

But on the good side we have all the investigators and so we get to help everyone and with that, comes more baptism dates and with that more goals!

As of yesterday we have 9 of our lost brothers and sisters accept a baptism date!

Yes I said it 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so amazing to see that people are willing to make a goal to change their lives and live the life that Christ wants them to live. Not only Christ but the way that they asked before they came to this earth.

Yesterday in church we had 6 investigators and they all loved it so much! I am so happy to see people changing their lives!

Doctrine and Covenants was right when it says the worth of souls is great in the sight of God!

I love the scriptures so much....

I love being able to share this Gospel to my brothers and sisters, I know that what I am sharing with them will bless their lives!

I know that if they continue to push through all the hard times in their lives that they will be blessed for it.

I am so grateful for this opportunity to work in the Work of our Savior Jesus Christ.

I want you all to know that I know all of this to be the word of God, I know that I am here to be a representative of Jesus Christ and help all of his brothers and sisters come back to him.

I love you all so much and I miss you. I know that since I am here and working in this work that the Lord is blessing you guys and watching out for all of you.

Please promise me something when the going gets tough the tough get going!

NEVER EVER SAY I can't because I know that the Lord never said I can't!

I love you all and I can't wait to hear from you all next week!

Love
Elder Musgo!!!!!!!!!

Remember Everyone is beautiful and has there own talents so don't be afraid to let them show!

Week 5 in Cabo Rojo

Well my time is flying by I have been in Cabo Rojo for 5 weeks now that is so weird. Transfers are this next week and there is no saying what could happen it is very possible I could be leaving Cabo Rojo but it is very possible I could be training a new missionary here in Cabo Rojo I will let you know next week what happens. As for this week.

It was another hard week we were supposed to have 3 baptisms but all three fell through but I know that in some time these kids will get baptized it may not be with me or Elder Noble but I know that they will get baptized. Additional information about the baptisms from a different email: They didn't happen because we couldn't get an interview and their mom didn't have a free day this weekend.

I am so grateful for all that I have been blessed with especially the Book of Mormon

Right now I am reading it again but this time it is only in Spanish and it is really helping me with my spanish. This week we had the opportunity to have a Reunión de la misión (Meeting of the Mission). Este fue bien chevere (this was really cool) sorry my Spanish kicked in for a second. But this meeting was really cool we got to share our testimonies about the Book of Mormon, and boy were there a lot of missionaries that wanted to share their testimonies. Additional information about the Reunión de la misión from a different email: I got to see my whole group from the MTC yesterday and all but three of us shared our testimonies and it is weird to hear how different we all speak the language after 8 months (that is today 8 months) it was really cool to see everyone.

Elders Beecroft and Moss
Elders Orr, Beecroft, Moss, Fox, and, in front, Flores
Elders Moss, Grimmer, and Orr - Buddies from the MTC

[Because we don't speak Spanish,  I put his testimony into Google Translate - It's a beautiful testimony...]

I want to testify about the Book of Mormon, I know that this book is the word of God, I know this book is here to help us in our lives and this book is here to teach us not become like the people with their hearts hardened . This book is my favorite book. I know this Church is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, I know Thomas S Monson is our prophet today and was calling for help at this time. I love family. I miss her so much.
