Week 4 in Carolina - Pontezuela

Family and Friends!!!!!

This week was a great week!!!! I am really enjoying this area!!!!! I know that the Lord has put me here for a reason!!!! I know that the Lord has plans for each and everyone of us. 

For me Yes I taught Gospel Principals yesterday. I hadn't read the class because I wasn't supposed to give the class but during the Sacrament meeting I decided I better read the lesson. So I read it and after that We got into class and because there were no teachers the other Elders said Elder Moss we are ready for our lesson. So really didn't have much of a choice. It was an okay lesson I guess. 

Also this week we had a lot of opportunities to learn about what we can do to be better missionaries!!! We are always trying to be better each and everyday!!!!

How are you doing?

I am doing great getting better and better each and every day!!!!!

 

What did you get done last week?

This We got a lot done last week we were very busy and teaching a lot!!!!

 

What do you have planned for this week? 

This week we have a surprise Birthday Party for Elder Ramirez his Birthday is tomorrow.

 

How's your companion doing? 

My Companion is doing great!!!! He is so funny and teaching me SOOOOO much!!!!!

 

Are the two of you getting along? 

We are getting along great we always just randomly start laughing!!!!

 

Are the brothers still going to church? 

The brothers never made it to church the older one did not want to go.

Are you still teaching them? 

This No we are not really teaching them anymore they are just avoiding us now.

 

How was church? 

We Church was really good, I learned a lot the Stake Presidency was at church.

What did you learn? 

I learned a lot about Fasting. I learned a lot only because I got put on the spot to teach the Gospel Principals class. 

 

What songs did you sing? 

I really can't remember all the songs that we sang.

 

What was your most favorite thing that happened last week? 

The best thing that we did this last week was that Angel gave us food 6 days of the week!!!! It was awesome!!!!

 

What does your new city look like?

We My new city looks just like any other city, in the states its a normal city that is really busy.

Did you go to any new places last week?

This last week no we didn't go any where new but this next week on Monday we are going to the El Yunque. The national park here to go hiking!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

Week 3 - Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends!!!!!!!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!!!!

I hope you all had a great week!!!!! I feel like I just wrote yesterday. These days are just going faster and faster. They are just great big blurs!!!!! 

But for this week!!!! We have been doing good. We are seeing a lot of success as a companionship. We are working hard and trying to find those people that are wanting to listen to us. 

Right now we have 2 Baptismal Dates!!!! They are both for the 3rd of July!!!! 

 

One is named C she is super cool, she was an old investigator, they stopped visiting her because she was always working and now she has a little break so we are in visiting her. We are hoping to teach her family completely but we will find out tomorrow. 

We also have F he is great!!!! We are teaching him and his brother!!!! Only F has a date for now but they are so nice. F is the oldest of the two and he is always saying that since he is the oldest they will listen to us. They are such great men!!!!!!

We also have A, he is in one of the pictures that I sent home. He is like a father to me here in the mission. He always makes sure that we have eaten and that we are doing okay, I have received a lot of things from his work. He works with Telemundo it is a TV Channel here in Puerto Rico and he is in charge of the promotions so he always has things with the Telemundo sign it is awesome!!!!!

Week 2 - Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and friends,

This week was a really good week. I am learning so much and growing each and everyday!!!!! 

I have been blessed with such a great companion and great Elders to share this last bit of the mission, they have made it super fun for me and have taught me a ton. 

We are currently teaching someone by the name of Z, she is super cool, her 9 old son is a member but she is not. We also found out that her mom is a member and some of her siblings are members. She is very open to us sharing with her and teaching her. We have been able to us members with her already and we only have visited her once the second time is this week. 

Also we are still teaching A we are hoping to be able to help him clear up some doubts that he has about the church but I know that the Lord will help us. 

We are learning a lot as missionaries here in Pontezuela. I am so grateful for this opportunity that I have to be here and to learn. We have been blessed with members who are willing to go out with us and work with us and for this I am grateful!!!!! 

I love you all so much and miss you tons!!!!! I am sorry this is short but I am still not super good at writing. I am hoping that this gets better soon!!!! I love you all.

Questions and Answers

How's it going?  

I am doing great I have never been so happy!!!! I am in pain but that's just from walking and doing exercise. I want to be at or under 200 pounds when I come home in November!!!!!  

 

How's Carolina? 

Carolina is great I really enjoy it up here, It was hard to drive the first time especially when we had to go to Hato Rey for District meeting we left an hour early and we got sooooooooooooooooooooooo lost, but now its all good.  

 

How was your week?

This week was great we are always trying to find those people that are ready to listen to us and that want this in their lives. 

 

Are you teaching anyone on a regular basis? 

We are teaching a couple people on a regular basis, AR and ZR these two are really cool and interested, mentioned AR last week!!!!

 

How was church yesterday? 

Church was great yesterday, I had the opportunity to bless the sacrament for the first time in my mission!!!! There were 42 people there that's counting 4 missionaries and visitors from the Stake.

 

How's your companion doing? 

My companion is awesome he reminds me a lot JR but we don't fight or argue at all its so weird to look and talk to him at times because I can see JR a lot.

 

What do you have planned for today?

Nothing

Week 1 in Carolina (Pontezuela)

Family and Friends!

Wow what a week!

I am not in Salinas any more. I am in such a different area and it is nothing like Salinas! I am here to learn of new things and new people!

This week was very different for me! I have been blessed with a great area and a great companion. He has helped me so much in just the 6 days that we have been together!

I am sad that I am not District Leader anymore but I have been able to be more relaxed and be able to be even more focused on my investigators. 

Something that happened this past weekend was that...

We have an investigator that has been investigating the church for about 2 years now and he has some doubts that we are working with but the miracle from the week with him is that yesterday it was fast and testimony meeting, so he decided that we wanted to share his testimony, so he got up and he bore the most powerful testimony that I have heard here in my mission. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever seen in my mission!!! 

I am really enjoying this area!!! The only thing that I have noticed right now is this is going to be a place that really challenges me mentally. Mentally because here in my area we have the airport and not just any airport it is the one that when we finish our missions we go there! I will be hearing a lot of airplanes flying over me and a around me. This is going to be a lot of fun.

How are you doing? 

I am doing fantastic!!!!!

 

How do you like Carolina? 

Carolina is amazing I feel like I am back at home with everything that is here.

 

What is it like compared to all the other areas you've been in?

It is completely different than my other areas there are not close to the same.

 

Is there a lot of work for you there?

There is a lot of work here and I love it so much!!!!

 

This is the first time you've been in such a metropolitan area.

This is the very first time in an area like this.

 

What is it like there? 

There are many buildings and restaurants that I remind me of back at home, here is like the States a little.

 

Is it hotter than your other areas?

Yes and no it isn't super hot and it rains a lot but because it rains a lot there is a lot of humidity. 

 

Is there any ocean in your new area?

Yes we have some ocean it is in an area called Isla Verde. 

What kind of house are you in?

We are in an house that is like an apartment there are 4 houses in total that are where we are.  

 

How many other missionaries are there?

4 

 

Tell me about your companion. What is he like?Where is he from?How long has he been out? So far, what's the funniest time you've had with him? 

 

He is from Guatemala, he has 11 months in the mission, he is super funny and always joking around!!!! The funniest thing that has happened with him is that we found these older guys and we invited them to church the younger brother said no but the older Brother said yes we are going to church because I am older and I said so!!!!!    

What are their names? 

Me, Elder Ramirez, Elder Morris, and Elder Herrera.

 

Where are they from?

Arizona, Guatemala, California, and Mexico. The other three are all from the same MTC Group so they all have 11 months in the mission.

 

Are you the only non-native speaker again?

No there are two Gringos in the house.

 

What's your ward/branch like?

The Ward is awesome I got asked to say the opening prayer in Sacrament Meeting Yesterday

 

How close to the mission office are you?

I am not to far but I am not close either so I won't see very many people from the office.

 

 

My very last week in Juncos

What a week!!! This is also was my very last week here in Juncos, I am being transferred to Cabo Rojo. My new companion's name is Elder Noble. He's from the Dominican Republic. 

My new area

I am so sad but happy to leave. I am ready to see the other parts of the Island but I am going to miss Juncos, this is my home. I started here and I don't want to leave but I know that the Lord has different plans for me. 

This week was great we are getting new people to teach we are having different things going for us and I am going to miss them all. 

I had to pack today for the first time since the MTC and packing for me today felt as if I was packing when I left Arizona. I almost started to cry, it was bad but I am ready for a new adventure!!!

I love you all but I have to go. I am so sorry that this is such a short letter but I want to share with you my testimony:

I know that this gospel is true, I know that we all have purposes in this life, I know that we don't why things happen to us but I know that the Lord knows and he will never ever leave our side he will always be there for us no matter how hard it is he will be there to help us. I know that there are people that we might not get along with but if you truly try to get a long the Lord will bless us much.

Cool clouds over Juncos

Great Week - Week 23, Juncos, PR

Well this week was amazing. We had so many miracles and food appointments, this was the most food I have had in a long time.

This week things were different with Elder Fox and myself we are getting better at working together. This transfer was hard for me but it is coming to an end here next week. Maybe I will stay and maybe I will be transferred but I do know that I will do whatever the Lord needs me to do. 

I know that the Lord will bless me no matter. I know we are given trials and we need to overcome them the Lord will always help us and he will always be there for us no matter what. 

 

I love this Gospel so much and I am so grateful it to be in my life. I know that the Lord has blessed me greatly. I love all the blessings in my life and one of the best blessing in my life is my Father!!!! I am so grateful for all that he has done for me and I wish he were here to help me but I know that he is helping me from far away. I love you dad and I miss you. 

I hope all the fathers had a great day yesterday and got to spend time with their families yesterday. I love all the Father figures in my life. You have all helped with my whole life, Thank you Grandpa, Brandon, Corey, Ryan, and my dad you all have helped me so much and I am grateful for all that you have done. 

Work is going great here and the members are starting to work with us more and helping us offering us rides and food it is awesome. 

We are always working and finding new people to teach and we are working more with Less actives to I love this work and am so grateful for it in my life because I want to help everyone I can.

I love you all and I am so grateful for all that you guys do for me.
